NOBBYS SLSC Junior ActivitiesWelcome to NOBBYS Junior Activities 2011/2012 season
The water based activities include an Ocean Swim, Board Paddle, Duck Diving, Board Rescue Race, Ironman Race and Wade Race.
Great emphasis is placed on educating our children properly in all aspects of SURF LIFE SAVING. This is done with a training package developed by HUNTER SURF LIFE SAVING, with lesson plans tailored to each age group. The complete package is given special emphasis during the first 10 weeks of the season. Children who have completed the course are awarded a certificate of achievement. As with all Hunter surf clubs children in the Under 6 and Under 7 age groups are enrolled on a fun and education basis only and cannot compete at carnivals. Under 8’s is the youngest age group able to participate in inter-club competitions. Because we use Newcastle Ocean Baths as an integral part of our Nippers programme we believe that even our Under 6’s and Under 7’s should be competent swimmers and therefore will need to pass a proficiency test. Sunday morning activities commence at 9:45 (line up in ages) 10:00 sharp start activities and conclude at midday (11:30 for the U/6’s ) each week. To promote the family club reputation of NOBBYS SLSC and to foster parental involvement we have a special membership classification of “Parent Member” this is primarily designed to cover insurance costs. At least one parent per family is required to join Nobbys SLSC as a parent member. The parent member is expected to be available on Sundays to assist in beach activities. Parents of U/6’s and U/7’s are required to escort their children around the activities even if they cannot assist those age groups. Click here for the 2011 - 2012 Season CalendarUPDATES
