Welcome to Nobbys SLSC

Nobbys SLSC members have been proudly patrolling Nobbys Beach since the 1922/1923 Season. Surf Life Saving Clubs were established to serve the bathing public by having trained, experienced surf life savers available to patrol our beaches.

Vigilance & Service

Nobbys SLSC conducts beach patrols every Saturday, Sunday, and public holiday from the beginning of the October school holidays through to the end of April school holidays, each Summer season.

Surf Life Saving Awards

The Surf Bronze Medallion is our major award. Candidates must be a minimum of 15 years of age. Successful candidates for the award must be able to display a sound knowledge of surf awareness, survival, patrol and rescue operations. Included in the examination is a run (200m)/swim (200m)/run (200m) within eight minutes, simulated rescues, team/individual carries, resuscitation techniques and general surf knowledge. The Bronze medallion Award costs $155 and includes club membership, training, manual and Bronze Medallion award.

Individuals between 13 and 15 years of age may attempt the Surf Life Saving certificate. This can be seen as an introduction to the Bronze medallion for those individuals not yet old enough to attempt the Bronze Medallion.

The Surf Life Saving movement offers training in a range of additional awards including:

• Advanced Resuscitation Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• Inshore Rescue Boat Drivers Certificate
• Instructors and Examiners Certificates
• Silver Medallion
• Gold Medallion

SundAy Mornings

Every Sunday morning during the summer season (October to April) a club swim is held for all members, conducted on a handicap basis. Usually, Sunday mornings is are the best time to catch up with the club management committee.
