Club’s policy:-

All applications for hire are to be in writing (emailed) to the Club for approval by the Club's Management Committee.

All accounts are to be settled prior to the event taking place and any additional costs incurred from the function an additional account will be sent to the hirer after the event and is payable in seven (7) days.

The auditorium will hold a maximum of 150 people standing, and 120 seated.

Nothing is to be stuck to the walls, honor boards, ceiling fans or over photos, there is provision to hang items from the fixed points around the room & ceiling - the use of blue tack, sticky tape or similar, pins or staples is not allowed. Candles can be used as long as all candles are in containers that will not catch on fire, hold and prevent any wax from escaping and can only be put on the tables for decoration.

Only financial Club members are able to apply for an 18th or 21st Birthday party, where strict conditions are to be met.
When alcohol is being served:-
The Club will supply the Bar Staff needed for the function based on the ratio below & Cleaning of the auditorium after each function. No alcohol will be served after 11:00pm and the building is to be vacated by 12 midnight. (no exceptions) The need for Security Staff will depend on the type of function and if required the hirer is responsible to arrange and if the Club needs to, will arrange and charge accordingly.
Hall hire:-
Under our existing license, the Club is not able to sell alcohol over the bar and the hirer is responsible for the supply of all food & alcohol to their guests. e.g., birthday parties & work Christmas shows etc, where alcohol is to be served for no more than 4 hours.
Example 1:- Possible Hire Costs: $1441:00 inclusive of GST
This includes;
Hire of the Auditorium ($495) including the use of the Club's under bar fridge, 12 tables & 126 chairs and 2 x bar -tables & 7 stools, use of the Club's PA and sound system (if required), 3 x bar staff to serve for 4 hours and be there 1 hr before and 1hr after ($396), cleaning levy ($132) and alcohol option ($418 - please see below for details of this option).
Alcohol Option includes:-

The supply of the first keg (49.5L) & use of the temp-rite system,

1 x case of light beer
-
6 x bottles of wine being Red or White or 3 of each (if required), beer & wine glasses & champagne flutes or plastic if needed,

24 cans of soft drink,

4 x bags of ice (if required)

Supply of the tea, coffee & milk along with disposable cups, and
-
The use of the Club's urn, microwave oven, BBQ & warmer with gas (if needed).
Example 2:-
Possible Hire costs for a Wedding:-
A wedding for a non member with 120 guests, Auditorium Hire ($495), with one Nobbys SLSC person being available for 3 hrs for the setting up of the hall the night before ($66), 4 x bar staff for 6 hrs ($528), the cleaning levy ($132) & the alcohol option ($418), the total costs would be; $1639:00 inclusive of GST
Guest / Bar Staff Ratio:
up to 50 people / 2 x staff, over 50 & under 100 people / 3 x staff, over 100 & under 150 / 4 x staff
Bar staff are paid for 6hrs:- 4hrs serving and 1 hr before & after the function, additional time is at $22/hr each.
Community Groups: -
These can include; conferences / seminars / schools & staff training days where alcohol is not being served
$88 / hr (min. 2hrs hire) or
$220 / day ( 9am to 4pm) for a weekday and
$330 / night (5pm to 11pm) for a weekday night (not including Friday)
a cleaning fee of $132 may apply depending on the type of hire.
All hire costs include GST
When alcohol is being served normal hire rates will apply.
Newcastle City Council: -
Hires coordinated through Council officers, for a weekday or night (not including Friday) which is work related and where no alcohol is being served is $176 a cleaning fee of $132 may apply.
